Oranges, mandarins, lemons… November is lit up with warm colors. Citrus lovers, come forward! Here is the list of fruits for the month!

Oranges

Sweet and juicy, one orange segment leads to another: this fruit, whose seasonal period extends from October to April, is the perfect ally for the health of the immune system, heart, and skin.

Rich in vitamins B1, B9, and C, as well as fiber and minerals, all varieties of oranges offer the same benefits to the body:

Persimmons

Orange and red, fleshy, soft, and really sweet. We are talking about persimmons, the symbolic fruit of autumn, along with chestnuts.

A friend of the immune system, this fruit is truly energetic, which is why it is recommended for children, athletes, and the elderly.

In addition to their diuretic, laxative, and hepatoprotective properties, they help purify the liver and intestines thanks to their excellent source of vitamins A, C, and potassium.

Chestnuts

Chestnuts are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C. They contain high levels of potassium and magnesium, as well as B-complex vitamins, pantothenic acid, and folic acid.

These two acids are useful in case of seborrheic dermatitis, stomatitis, glossitis, and in those who have hair loss problems.

Chestnuts have many health benefits, such as improving heart health and enhancing the immune system: their anti-inflammatory properties fight laryngeal inflammation.

Clementines

November is also the period of the best-selling citrus fruit in Italy after oranges: we’re talking about clementines, a natural hybrid born from the cross between an “Avana” tangerine and a selection of bitter orange called “Granito.”

Excellent for intestinal motility, clementines are a real mine of vitamins and fibers: they protect the immune system, counteract constipation, and bad cholesterol.

Kiwi

Kiwis are rich sources of potassium, fiber, and antioxidants capable of fighting free radicals and reducing the risk of inflammation and tumors.

Low in calories, they help reduce circulation disorders such as swollen legs and ankles, often caused by water retention and poor microcirculation.

Recommended in the athlete’s diet, they are rich in dietary fiber that promotes proper intestinal motility, reducing phenomena of irritable bowel and constipation.

Lemons

Originally from the Far East, the lemon is now one of the most representative citrus fruits in southern Italy. In the kitchen, it is possible to use every part of the fruit.

Its anti-aging qualities are renowned, thanks to the strong presence of antioxidants and nutrients, which act on the body helping it to:

  • Prevent the risk of cancer, anemia, and kidney stones;
  • Improve cholesterol levels;
  • Improve iron levels.

Lemon peel can be used to prepare flavored water useful for hydrating the body. In the herbal field, it has digestive, draining, flu-fighting, and anti-anemic properties.

Mandarins

In its composition, it is rich in B-group vitamins and minerals: we recommend consuming it with the peel, as it concentrates its nutritional characteristics there.

Grapes

Grapes are a nutritious and energetic fruit: precisely because of the large amount of sugars contained in it, it is usually not recommended for diabetics.

It is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, and C, as well as fiber, fats, and proteins: its consumption is useful in case of venous insufficiency, capillary fragility, and hemorrhoids.

Now that we have discovered the fruit of the month, it’s time to see what seasonal vegetables are available in November. Here is the list.

Broccoli (and Romanesco)

Broccoli is an excellent source of vitamin K, a nutrient associated with bone health: a serving of broccoli provides up to 120% of the recommended daily dose of vitamin K.

They are also rich in vitamins A and C, which help strengthen immunity and reduce inflammation in the body. Just a serving of broccoli provides almost 100% of the recommended daily dose of vitamin C, as well as 100% of recommended levels of vitamin A and folic acid.

Artichokes

Raw or cooked, cauliflower is a food that cannot be missing from our tables. In fact, it is rich in active principles that have an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer action.

Rich in minerals and vitamins C and K, it counteracts hypertension and improves concentration and mental functions. It also provides numerous benefits for bones. Finally, it is useful in case of common discomforts such as diarrhea, bronchitis, conjunctivitis, stomach, intestinal, and muscular pain.

Cabbages
